Nov 20th: Our monthly meeting to be held at Coaches at 1300 hours.

Nov 11th: We have been asked to participate in Nashville's Veterans Day Parade which starts at 1100 hours. Stage at American Legion Post 88, 2717 McCampbell Ave, 8:30 am, KSU 8:45 am. The group needs to be in element 5 location prior to start time.
Nov 11th: The Dr. William Burrus Elementary School in Hendersonville (1336 Drakes Creek Road, 37075), has asked for a few minutes of our time. We were invited last year and it had a great impact on the children. They ask that we participate in their Veteran's Day Assembly on 11 November by briefly speaking (2-3 Minutes), about our role in the military. You will be asked to give your name, your relation to one of their students if applicable, your military Branch of Service, your position or job in the military and number of years served, lessons learned and most of all, what our country means to you. We are asked to be in their front parking lot NLT 0815 where we will check in at the Front Office. The assembly will take place in the gym at 0845 hours. The attire will be Military Uniform or CVMA Vest with white shirt. Afterwards, you will have the option of visiting classrooms to answer their questions.
Nov 9th: This ride is for the Escort of the Wall starting at Bumpus Harley Davidson. Line up is 1300 hours with a KSU of 1430 hours. This is a State Sanctioned Event for those of you working towards your Lifetime membership. As a reminder, our Chapter agreed to provide security for the wall from November 11-November 13, so please sign up as per the information Email that was sent to you.
Nov 7th: We will be participating in the Hendersonville Veterans Day Parade on Sunday November 7. Our Chapter has led this ride since its inception so please try to attend. Lineup begins at 11:30 hours. There has been a change to the staging location for the Hendersonville's Veteran's Day Parade on November 7th. We are lining up at the U.S. Bank (169 E. Main Street, 37075), same as last year on the corner of Gallatin Road and Cherokee for the Hendersonville Veteran's Day Parade, NOT the Drakes Creek Park Parking Lot! I apologize for this confusion. The parade starts promptly at 1400 hours.
Nov 6th: Gallatin's Veteran's Day Parade. We are to meet at 0915 hours at the OLD Gallatin football field located at 695 East Main Street, Gallatin, 37066. If you come through town, you will turn left onto E. Main Street and pass the Shell station on your right. First entrance on the right is where you enter.
Oct 22nd-23rd: Everyone should have received the "Homes For Troops" information email about this two day event. It includes all information on the ride from Cookeville to Sparta with the official ceremony. They have a motel set aside so if you are interested, you must preregister not only for a motel room but the ride itself. Please do so ASAP!

Sept 20th: Escort SSG Teet (cont) from Sellars Funeral Home to the Middle Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery at 7931 McCory Lane 37221. The escort will take place immediately following the 1200 hour service.

Sept 16th: Escort SSG Teet, 2 Tours in Iraq and 2 tours in Kosovo. He is arriving into the Nashville Airport (963 Airport Rd), at 1555 hours via Southwest airlines on 16 September. The Patriot Guard have been notified and we may have police escort. The escort will go from the airport to Sellars Funeral Home located at 108 Monthaven Blvd, Hendersonville, TN 37075. We will depart from Murfreesboro Bumpus HD at 1445.
Sept 13th: We will escort "Tot's" son on the 13th of September, at 1415 hours from Coaches Eastgate Grille. We will be taking him to the Mt. Juliet Recruiting Station located on Pleasant Grove Rd.

Sept 4th: TN 18-1 9th Annual Fallen Brothers Memorial Ride (Lebanon, TN).
Starting point will be at Coach's Eastgate Grill 6750 Eastgate Blvd Lebanon, Tn 37090-6019.
Registration 0900-1030. KSU 1100. Cost $15 per bike $5 for a passenger. Final destination Keller's 325 Highway 25 W Hartsville, Tn 37074.

Aug 28th: 6th Annual Ella Ride by Gallatin Roughnecks MC (Hendersonville, TN)
August 9th: Smoky Mountain hike supporting "Baby Huey" to the site of his brothers passing to spread his ashes at the trailhead. For more information contact "Baby Huey".
July 31st: Annual Hendersonville Roadblock (Hendersonville, TN). Meet at parking lot behind SunTrust bank next to First United Methodist Church on East Main Street 0830 to be mission ready by 0900.
July 24th: TN 18-11 Southern Thaw Ride (Tullahoma, TN)
July 24th: Funeral for Marine Captain Glen Walker, KIA on Tarawa in 1943. We have been asked to meet at the Home Depot in Lebanon (955 S. Hartmann Dr. Lebanon, TN 37090) at 1400 hours. There will be a church service at 1500 hours located at 1660 Leeville Pike, Lebanon, TN 37090. Following the service, the procession to the cemetery will be led by Law Enforcement. They will be going to Wilson County Memorial Gardens, 618 South Maple St. Lebanon, TN 37087. He will be buried with Military Honors and a "Fly By" scheduled for 1630 hours.
July 21st: Funeral escort for Marine Captain Glen Walker, KIA on Tarawa in 1943. Meet at the American Airlines Cargo Freight Area at 1200 hours located 963 Airport Service Road in Nashville. The procession is from the airport to the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, 241 W. Main St, Lebanon , TN 37087.

July 5th: We had a former member (Mayhem), that passed away a couple of years ago. His wife's name was "Raven", who happens to be deaf. Her closest friend and interpreter is a lady named Shelley. Shelley's dad (Henry Hooper), passed away and is being buried on Monday July 5th with military honors at the Spring Hill Cemetery (5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, 37216), in Nashville at 1000 hours. She has asked for our presence at the cemetery. Whether biking or caging, she would be honored to see you.

June 12th: VFW Flag Retirement Ceremony at 1400 hours at the Wilson County Veterans Museum located in downtown Lebanon near the Wilson County Court House. Address is: 304 E. Main St. Lebanon, TN 37087.
June 12th: Bike Show at Smyrna VFW located at 10157 Old Nashville Hwy, Smyrna, TN 37167. Please support this fund raiser even if you are not participating in the actual show. CVMA Setup 0700-0900; Registration 0900-1000; Judging 1015-1130; Awards 1200-1300.
June 5th: CVMA 18-1 Rattle Snake Saloon trip (Muscle Shoals, AL). All of us whether you go with a group or individually, please meet at the Lovelace Cafe (8400 TN-100, Nashville, TN 37221) at 0730 hours on June 5th. They open at 0800 but they do not take reservations so our intent is to use the "First Come, First Serve" technique. They are aware of us coming. After breakfast, we will slowly work our way to the Rattle Snake Saloon.
May 31st: “Bull’s” Hendersonville Memorial Day Parade. Our Chapter will be leading Bull's 10th Annual Memorial Day Honor Ride. Our Chapter has led this ride since it's inception. We will link up at the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store (1005 Village Green Crossing) in Gallatin with registration between 0700-0845 hours. There is no fees for this ride nor will anything be sold. This is a police escorted ride with a KSU of 0900 hours. It is open to the public so please pass the word. Please make the attempt to make this ride.
May 30th: TN 18-12 Smoky Mountain Thunder Memorial Ride (Sevierville, TN)
May 29th-30th: TN 18-1 ride to Maggie Valley. Link up at 0630 hours at Coaches with a KSU of 0700. You will be riding to the Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie Valley NC. You will spend the night in Bryson City NC, where you will have a group tent site reserved at Smoky Mountain Meadows campground, 755 East Alaska Rd, Bryson City NC 28713. The campgrounds phone number is 828-488-3672. There are hotels nearby for those who are unable to camp. Sunday morning May 30th, you will ride the Cherohala Skyway and then back to Nashville.
May 28th: the Patriot Guard has asked for our presence at tomorrow's honor ride supporting Clayton Ray Byrum. He served in the US Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard, during Korea. They would like us to stage at 0930 hours at 209 E. College St, Dickson, TN, 37055. Their briefing will be given at 0945 hours with a "Stand To" time of 1000 to 1130 hours with a KSU of 1130 and a release time of 1230 hours. Due to the short notice, I have contacted, TN 18-5, TN 18-10, and the US Military Vets M/C.

March 26th: Assisting Paitriot Guard Riders with a Standing a Flag Line for deceased Army SP4 Reid Scheidemantel, Nashville National Cemetery 5110 Gallatin Pike S. Nashville, TN 37115, Friday, March 26, 2021 1315 (1:15). Mr. Scheidemantel served in the US Army from 1969 to 1975. He served in Vietnam. PGR has requested any 18-1 CVMA willing and available to assist them in providing honors. Flags will be provided, bring water. Point of contact is Aldo Calabrese (615) 430-4756.
March 24th: Funeral escort in Columbia, TN for was SGT. Ronald D. Anderson, who served in the U..S. Marine Corps from 1966-1970. He was a member of the American Legion Riders and the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Chapter 18-5. His Chapter and the Patriot Guard will be escorting also. Staging Details: Wednesday 3-24-21, 1130 hours at Christ Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 2494 Hwy US-31, Columbia, TN 38401. Following the service, there will be a 5 mile escort to Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home.
March 20th: Monthly Meeting @ Coaches starting at 1300
March 6th: Our Chapter has been asked to perform a funeral escort this Saturday on March 6th at 1400 hours in Watertown. Mr. Harlan Buckner was a Purple Heart recipient of Vietnam and will be buried with full Military honors. We will meet at Coaches Eastgate Grille at 1130 hours to allow people to eat. We will leave Coaches NLT 1300 hours for Watertown's Cumberland Presbyterian Church located at 504 W. Main Street in Watertown. After the service, we will escort to the Jones Hill Cemetery at 584 Old Statesville Road also in Watertown, 37184. We may be riding with an M/C called the "Silent Creed" and the Patriot Guard. For those of you that would like to leave Gallatin as a group, we will KSU from the Circle K gas station located at South Water Avenue and the Hwy 109 Bypass at 1100 hours. Hope to see you there!

January 2nd: “Clutch’s” Polar Bear Ride. It's time to "fire up" those motorcycles. "Clutch" is holding his Annual Polar Bear Run this Saturday on 2 January starting at Coaches Eastgate Grille in Lebanon at 0900 hours. The ride will take about 2 hours involving country "back roads" and with a little luck, you will stop to get something to eat depending on COVID restrictions. Please RSVP to him directly. I highly encourage your attendance in this annual tradition and it's usually an interesting and fun time.

November 11th – at 0845 hours a Flag Folding Ceremony for the Burrus Elementary School in Hendersonville will be narrated by "Bull" and our chapter is participating. The uniform will be white short-sleeved shirt with vests. The address for Burrus Elementary School is 1336 Drakes Creek Rd, Hendersonville, TN 37075.
November 8th – at 1400 hours "Bulls" Gallatin Veterans Day Parade (Non-sanctioned event). Staging @1300. Our Chapter will support "Bull" and has been the lead element behind the police since the inception of this Veteran's Day Parade. We will stage NLT 1300 hours on November 8th at 169 E. Main Street in Hendersonville. The staging area for the Hendersonville Veteran's Day Parade is the same as last year behind the US Bank NLT 1300 hours. Afterwards, we will be going to the VFW. They start closing roads at 1300 so please do not be late and KSU will be at 1400 hours.
November 1st – our Chapter and BBG's family will be escorting "BBG's" cremains from Hendersonville to Lafayette. The Southern Crew will meet at Bumpus Harley Davidson in Murfreesboro at 0800 hours with a Kick Stand Up of 0815. They will link up with the Northern crew who will be staging at the American Legion Post #17 at 1040 South Water Ave in Gallatin, 37066. We as a Chapter will be leaving the American Legion at 0945 hours. We should be at the Hendersonville staging area (near 393 E. Main St., Hendersonville) by 1015 hours. We will have a safety briefing and will depart at 1100 hours for "BBG's" farm (1367 Smith Hale Rd, Lafayette, 37083). We will have a full police escort and "B.B." will be providing the "Chase" vehicle with trailer. P.S. Those of you in "cages", please remember to bring chairs, and coolers WITH ice! And just as a reminder, Nov 1st is also "Day Light Savings" time.

September 27th – our Chapter will support the Gallatin Roughnecks MC ride and fundraiser for Gold Star Mother's cancer surgery this coming Sunday Sept 27, 2020. The ride will begin and end at the Gallatin Elk's Lodge 242 Airport Rd, Gallatin, TN 37066. KSU @ 1000. $20 per bike w/$5 per hangar-on. No info on when registration starts. I will lead the Southern group from Bumpus HD in Murfreesboro w/ KSU @ 0815.
September 26th – Nationals will NOT be a credited meeting. ONLY elected/selected representatives will be in attendance (see your BOD for more info). Venue moved from Jacksonville FL to Kansas City, MO.
September 19th – at 1300 hours Monthly meeting at Coaches
September 19th – Our Chapter has been asked to perform a Flag Folding for a company named 4Patriots. They are fans of ours and specialize in Survival Foods and would make a great donor. I would like to have 8 of us perform the folding. The Folding will take place at 1030 hours at Azalea Park, 2818 Azalea Pl, Nashville, TN 37204. We will conduct a Flag Folding rehearsal at the same location, same day, at 1000 hours with the actual ceremony being held at 1030 hours. The Uniform will be vests with white short sleeve button down shirts and white gloves if you have them. Also, be prepared to wear masks!
September 5th – Annual Fallen Brothers Ride (Chapters biggest event)
August 25th – We have been requested by one of our members to provide funeral escort. For those of you who can attend, please meet at the New Generation Funeral Home, 2930 Murfreesboro Pike, Antioch at 0930 hours with a KSU of 1000 hours. Our route will be to the Middle Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery at 7931 McCrory Lane.
August 22nd – Support 18-5 Memorial Ride in Columbia, TN

August 1st – "Roadblock" Fundraiser (was scheduled for 11 April). We will meet NLT 0830 hours behind the church located at 221 East Main St., Hendersonville or behind the Sun Trust Bank next to the church. It's the same location as the last couple of years. Due to COVID, we WILL be wearing masks. We have a large authorized time frame to operate but I have no intention of staying at our 6 locations longer than 4 hours....COVID and heat can take a lot out of people. Please try to come and support your Chapter since every fundraiser event we have scheduled, seems to be in jeopardy.
July 25 – 18-2 Annual Poker Run (Sanctioned). Our Chapter will be attending 18-2's 5th Annual Poker Run this Saturday (the 25th). We always support them as they support our Fallen Brothers Memorial Ride. We will link up at the Shell Station near Exit 40 at I-24 and Old Hickory Blvd at 0900 hours. KSU will be about 0920 with us arriving at the registration point about 1020 hours. All of us will have the option of purchasing items or entering raffles followed by their annual ride. Their ride costs $10 per bike and $5 for a passenger and is not mandatory but will be your choice of whether or not you want to ride. The rest of us will depart together for either refreshments, food or both. Their start/end point is: 1030 Progress Drive, Suite E, Clarksville,TN 37040. The "Southern Group" will meet at Bumpus HD in time for KSU of 0800.

July 14th – 1245 hours we have a funeral escort for Air Force and Vietnam Veteran David Peterson on Tuesday, July 14th. We will meet at the Hendersonville Funeral Home located at 353 East Main St. in Hendersonville at 1245 hours. Approximate KSU is 1300 hours. We will NOT be leading but will be in the escort. We will be going to the Nashville National Cemetery in Madison.
July 9th – 1700 hours at 610 Shelley Drive, Mount Juliet. Brandon "Superman" Cotton needs assistance moving his household goods from S. Mt. Juliet to N. Mt. Juliet. We will load his U-haul after 1400 hours on July 9th but we will unload it on July 10th (approx. 1400 hrs)! His email is soldier.slim007@gmail.com with a phone number of 615-568-1806. Please put these dates on your personal calendars to assist one of our own.
July 4th - 1000 hours. Her address is: 969 Bowling Branch Rd, Cottontown, 37048. We have an unemployed Veteran that could use some assistance. Her name is Beth Farmer and she lives in Cottontown. She needs a large tree limb removed and a new mailbox installed. She has everything but the labor to accomplish the mailbox installation. I went to this lady's house and did a visual recon. She has a 60' limb that has fallen and she would like it removed. I have two chainsaws (one in each hand), of which I will cut this limb into manageable pieces. They will then be moved about 40' to a brush pile. She also purchased a new mailbox which we will assemble and then relocate the new box about 25' away. She has everything to accomplish the mission including the post hole digger, the mortar and a bucket for water, and even a portable auger for a drill. "Old Man" is bringing the level. This mission should take no more than one hour.
June 20th – 1300 hours at USA Sports Grille in Lebanon, the address is: 151 Adams Ln, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122. We will not be fulfilling our Murfreesboro VA commitment until we get the "Green Light" from the VA.
May 25th – Ride postponed until August 22 “Bulls” Memorial Day Honor Ride (Sanctioned) On Memorial Day (Monday 25 May) Bulls WILL BE at the intersection of New Shackle Island and Long Hollow Pike (next to Beech School Complex) with an American flag between the hours of 0900hrs and 1000hrs as a reminder of the significance of the day. Remembering is one of the greatest Honors to those who have sacrificed so much for us and future generations. Freedom is fragile and it is thru the sacrifices of those who have gone before and have paid a very heavy price that we maintain it.!!!

April 25th - Postponed for when it is safer. Rattlesnake Saloon Ride and Adventure (25-26th Apr 2020). The "Northern" group will link up with the "Southern" group and we will ride together as a Chapter and eat breakfast at the Lovelace Cafe. From there we will ride to the Rattlesnake Saloon for food, beverage, and music. "Good Time Charlie" has gotten us a discount rate of $89 at the nearby Cold Water Inn in Tuscumbia, AL. Please make your reservations NLT April 1st and mention "CVMA® 18-1" to get the discounted rate. Their number is 1-256-383-6844.
April 22nd – Escort for SSGT Ansel Beck (active duty Air Force, non-combat related death) from the Nashville Airport to the Hendersonville Funeral Home. If you so choose to participate, it'll be at your own health and legal risk. The Northern group will meet at the corner of S. Water Ave and Hwy 109 Bypass (Circle K gas station), at 1245 hours with a kickstands up at 1300 hours. They have requested us to be at the SouthWest Air Cargo (969 Air Service Road), at 1400 hours even though the plane lands at 1510 hours. When in doubt, I ask that you side in the way of caution.
April 18th – Cancelled VA and monthly meeting
April 11th – We have decided to postpone our "Roadblock" Fundraiser that was scheduled for 11 April. We intend to postpone the event. This was based on the amount of jobs lost, the lack of cash available, and the lack of traffic available to us. Hendersonville Road Block (biggest fund raising event, mandatory function, looking for 100% turn-out)

March 9th, The family members from CVMA® Chapter 20-1 have asked us to attend the funeral of Ralph Van Brunt Jr., USMC/US Army Retired. His viewing is at 1000 hours at Roberts County Funeral Home in Springfield Tn 37172 at 2201 Memorial Blvd. His funeral will be held at 1400 hours at the Palestine United Methodist Church located at 2715 Old Hwy 431 S in Springfield, TN 37172. The Patriot Guard will be present.
March 5th, Unclaimed Navy Veteran to be buried at 1100 hours in Peagram at the Middle Tennessee State Cemetery on McCrory Lane.
February 22nd - Frank "Vum" Varnado's (FM #121), original TN 18, 18-1, and current 18-5 (original Commander), past National Chaplain and current State Chaplain, leading his final ride. KSU will be approximately 1200 hours from the VFW on 2021 Williamsport Pike in Columbia, TN. TN 18-1 Northern Group will meet at the Circle K gas station at the corner of Airport Road and Hwy 109 at 0845 hours with a KSU of 0900. TN 18-1 Southern Group will meet at Bumpus Harley Davidson in Murfreesboro at 1000 hours. We will depart as an entire Chapter at 1015 hours.
February 20th - Unclaimed Veterans, William Boyd (U.S. Marine Corps) and Joell Goerndt (U.S. Air Force) are being buried in Knoxville at 1130 hours Eastern time at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery located at 2200 E. Governor John Sevier Highway in Knoxville.

February 12th - Unclaimed Army Veteran PFC Robert Kaltz Jr. is being buried at 1100 hours in Peagram. The cemetery's address is 7931 McCrory Lane in Davidson County. If you are available, please be his family for the ceremony.
February 5th - The unclaimed Veteran's remains of A1C Milton David Richardson will be placed at 1000 hours at the National Cemetery in Madison.
